I live in North Carolina with my two children, two cats, and one dog.
Parenting has been my greatest joy in life, but also my greatest challenge.
I have often felt alone when seeking help for my kids. I have been frustrated time and time again by doctors who do not seem to acknowledge that what we eat has a deep impact on our bodies and minds.
When one of my children suffered horrible stomach pains and could not gain weight properly, the gastroenterologist told me "just feed him an instant breakfast drink" and he'll be fine. The instant breakfast drink he recommended had high fructose corn syrup as its first ingredient and more carbs than a large soft drink! Intuitively, I knew this advice was wrong.
Switching my family to a proper human diet resolved my child's stomach issues within months, and it also brought improvements to sleep quality, mood, and behavior. By adopting this way of eating myself, I also reached a healthier weight and found I had much more energy to be the present mother I wanted to be for my kids.
Despite these benefits, maintaining a proper human diet is challenging in the environment and culture we live in. Temptation is always present, and staying motivated and not getting discouraged is hard.
My own ups and downs on the journey towards family health is what inspired me to want to help others on their journeys. I became a health coach to empower families to achieve the confidence, success, and well-being they deserve.
I am participating in the first cohort of Dr. Ken Berry's Proper Human Diet (PHD) Coaching Certification program, and expect to receive my Certification in March 2026.
